The horse died from a rabid animal bite. There is no dispute on that.
What the paper fails to mention is that the bite killed the horse, not
the rabies. BUT because the source of the rabies was found, in this
case a dog, then the death of the horse gets chalked up to a rabid
animal attack.
You were quoted as saying "The colt almost attacked my husband, daughter
and me, she added".
That quote came from somewhere in the vet's and interviewer's head. I
have NO idea where they came up with it. At the time the colt was
attacked I was in New Mexico at a board meeting. I didn't see ANY of
the event. This misconception is corrected in my husband's letter,
where he points out I wasn't even there, so they can't quote me as
saying that stupid stuff.

Of all the branches of the animal kingdom,
none like the equine, is so afflicted with experts,
self pronounced, or raised to that status of "them
as knows best" by a reputation.
