That's not how it works. If someone poses something on the order of if X
then Y, it's incumbent upon them to confirm their hypothesis. No one is
under any obligation whatsoever to disprove them. That evidence to the
contrary is not forthcoming does not serve to confirm the hypothesis.

It is also incumbent upon those offering the hypothesis to describe the
mechanism whereby it could work, not merely run out into the yard
proclaiming that it does. If you don't know how something works you cannot
know that it does work.
