What I liked about Pete Ramey and Dr. Bowker is that they said 'its
the foot. Period. Its not whether you are a shoer or a trimmer or a
vet and if you think such and such and that. Its the foot. The
physiology of the foot is this. Period.' And from that one can either
draw conclusions, or not. But the science is there for all to see.

OF COURSE it's the physiology of the foot; that's never been an issue.

It's the DEMAND that there be one, holy, catholic, and apostolic
approach to the physiology of the foot. The idea that NO horse needs
shoes is as absurd as the idea that NO horse needs grain or that ALL
horses can be evaluated by the hair patterns on their face.

Or, put another way, a foot zealot with a rasp has a lot in common
with a monkey with a straight razor.

We get a lot of equine foolishness back here in the hills and whether
it's from the latest issue of some magazine or ever popular school of
thought that we call "daddydiditthataway" foolishness remains
foolishness.

The Golden Rule of Equine Husbandry still lives: you give the horse
what it needs, when it needs it, and in appropriage quantity and
quality.

Anything less is cruelty.

All the rest is commentary.
