OT for the Most Part . . . but a question

So. Cleaning out the attic this summer, found a big rubbermaid type tub full of collectible cards--baseball, hockey, basketball, and football. AND then there is a bunch of fantasy stuff as well, from Dungeons and Dragons and other such role playing games. I informed the X that I found some of his stuff and tell him to come get it.

It's still there--well, actually, it's in the office now. There must be at least 1,000 sports cards, most loose, some in plastic, and some boxes in the original packaging unopened. I am declaring it "mine" at this point. It's been in my house for three years now and he hasn't. He and the new wife and kid are living in CT, and he was back here in the area several times without getting the cards.

I know *nothing* about these things. All of the cards would be from the early 90's and older, since he had quite collecting by the time we were a couple. Carl and I looked at some on ebay and 99 cents seems to be the magic number for the ones we picked out and looked up, but some were worth more. Also, some had higher price tags on the packaging than what the ebay prices seemed to be.

This might be a nice way to pay for some of this family horse. Does anyone have a clue how I might go about selling this crap without spending 200 hours sorting and cataloging and pricing and setting up an ebay account and sending them off one by one for 99 cents each? Even if I only got about a dollar each that has to be at least a grand in there, and there are some which were like 5-6 dollars in the few we looked at.

Help?
