What a good Girrrl! and a great day! congrats on making her first show
such a success.
Thanks. I'd already decided I wasn't going to spoil her mood by
trying to do a big schooling in the warmup--if she wasn't ready, she
wasn't ready, and that would be my fault because she should be ready
before she hit the show grounds. But she *was* ready, and my goal for
this show was just to get her some exposure time.
But I saw too many people doing just that, yanking and jerking and
fussing at their horses. I just got her warmed up, then kept her
moving to keep from getting stiff.
I think she's going to be a fun horse to show because we both have the
same attitude--we're there to have fun. I don't have the time or the
money for serious show competition. And I just plain had a lot of fun
watching her reactions to everything once she settled in. *She*
wanted to watch the show as much as I did. I like that in a horse!
