How do you know he's "stressed out?"

His behavior the morning after a night of storms. He'll be laying down inside the run-in w/his head to the back wall or corner. He's extremely spooky from the time you halter him until about halfway through his lesson. On cross-ties he's very restless and the high-spook-mode means you have to be *very* careful to let him know your whereabouts all the time. He'll jump out of his skin at the saddle pad being laid across his back.

His normal behavior is to be grazing at 6:30am, play games with being caught, walk nicely on lead, stand nicely on cross-ties and be extremely curious & interested in his grooming & tacking-up procedure. He's not spooky and relaxes while he's being groomed.

He's a horse. Horses have been liiving outside for a couple of
million years. They can "deal" with it quite nicely as long as humans
don't overly interfere.

Sure they can. But since he has a stall that he could stay in during severe weather the option of utilizing it is one I keep thinking about.

If he gets "stressed" they he can "deal with it." Or not. If you
want ot pay the barn help extra I'm sure they will put the horse up
for you when you want it.

Its their job to turn-out, leave-in or bring-in horses per requests left on the machine for their shift. The horses are already being brought in & turned out each shift anyway.

Life carries a 100% risk of death. "Nobody gets out of this world
alive," so the old saying goes. Take reasonable precautions but
obsessing over this is going to make you ill. Learn to live with it
and you'll feel better.

I didn't think I was obsessing.
