Can someone help jog my memory? I remember reading about a hoof

advance.

I bought a paint-on type and also can't remember the name of it now.
It was pretty complicated to put it on. You had to buy a paint dryer
and it was a lot of trouble. The directions ask for the farrier to do
it, but, of course, that adds a lot of time for the farrier. It was
also about $75 for the starter kit. My advice is not to buy it. It
didn't work very well, either. I couldn't see much difference between
using it and going barefoot It was not equal to wearing regular
shoes, either.
I will say, though, that Old Mac has come out with a new style of boot
and it is significantly better than the old one-- fits the foot much
better. It's about the same cost -- $1450 $150, but I was able to
order a pair online from a place in CT for about $130. The big problem
I've had is that they would fall off when wet. Well, the new ones
didn't come off, even when completely wet and my horse was able to go
on some really terrible, rocky stuff up in New Mexico in them. They
come with a neopreen (sp?) sock, which didn't work for me. The socks I
make from wool hip wader socks still continue to work best. You have
to have some type of sock, or the boots will rub blisters on the
horse's feet and back of pastern. Sizes are different. Aspen wore a
size larger in the new design than in the old one
one.
