Well, it looks like there may be either some sort of problem on the
sellers end or the seller is being coy, as the Potential Buyer has been
attempting to contact the person in order to set up the PPE/BSE and no
one is getting back to her (she tried to get things set up last week, so
we are at over a week now with a non-responsive seller). It is so late
in the breeding season for getting started that unless things turn
around quite soon, the Potential Buyer is going to scrap plans. Seems
like the mare's age keeps changing, too, and the papers are misplaced .
. . just little things that add up to something Not Quite Right.

So I am quietly on the lookout either for a very nice young OTTB mare,
OR a nice broodmare someone wants to stash somewhere for a year (maybe
they want to keep the mare but reduce the number of foals on the ground
one season--I know that happens sometimes in small breeding facilities).
So if any of you all know someone with a nice mare they want stashed
for the 08 breeding season, foal to be born in 09, give me a shout. I am
thinking TB or Appendix QH mare, 15.2-16.2 hands, non gray.

Too bad this one's all the way out here; she's young and might make a
good prospect for someone on the East Coast. I've always thought
Josie might go English, but she's too hot for my liking (I never got
along with her). She was Mocha's pasture buddy for many years, bred
by Gregg, this owner took her out of the barn and now is in tight
circumstances.

She needs a light hand and a tactful handler/rider who's not afraid to
be firm, but is as athletic as the ad says. I've not seen her over
jumps but my guess is that she'd do well.

Definitely not a gray! Dam is dark bay, sire is brown.
