Last horse slaughter plant closed down..

Cave in Illinois officially shut down yesterday at around 11:00 AM. The federal government decided to reconsider allowing them to pay to have a government inspector on site. Now that there is officially no slaughter of horses for human consumption, I wonder how long it will be before animals are simply let loose to roam because there owners can no longer afford to feed them. This means that the bottom end of the market is about to collapse. We all knew this would happen sooner or later. Write your senators and congressman and complain loud and long that you want them to reconsider and allow the remaining slaughter plant in the USA to pay for inspection and remain open. The rescues in Illinois are begging for money to try to gain "custody" of an estimated 200 plus animals that are still in the pipeline headed for the plant..I say let them find their own way to fund it as most of those rescues were instrumental in trying to get that plant closed in the first place. Perhaps those unwanted animals should be shipped to D.C. and turned loose on the front door of the senate and house..let them deal with the problem they have created...
