Well I have not mentioned this really before. Over the last 20 years I
have had pain in my legs. For years they said it was in my head (ya
right).
To make a long story short this year they made the determination that......
it was mechanical (meaning from pressure on the nerves) damage to the
nerves that run along the front inside of the groin area. The damage
to these FROM riding has kept the nerves in my thighs inflamed enough
that the insulation around the nerves has seriously deteriorated
causing the pain.
This block for me is going to be the last shot for serious riding. If
it does not give me any relief I am going to have to stop or just walk
perhaps. I have my fingers crossed.
Oy!!
My sympathies.
I sincerely hope that this works for you.
Sounds like an analogous case to tennis elbow or carpal tunnel
syndrome.
What a nasty thing.
May you only have Good Luck.

ooh Dana--
How horrible for you! You have all my good thoughts going to you....
it sounds as if you believe this is a result of cumulative trauma,
rather than acute trauma....

Thanks to everyone. The thoughts on it from my Dr. who has horses at
home, his daughters ride is that the damage began as a child
(beginning age 6) and continued on, gradually causing the mess I have
now. I think what were called growing pains was damage happening. I
can ride fine, though lately when I dismount I cannot stand, bless his
heart Tally knows to brace himself. I have to throw one leg over his
neck grab the horn with my right and slide down supporting my body
weight with the horn. Then hours or the next day, it's pain time. So
it's become a "am I willing to pay later" question. sigh.
I know some here have talked about fibro. I just wanted to be sure
that they did not have to go through what I have and if their pain is
bad have the nerves tested to be sure.
Dana :)
