Re: Spent 3 days in Middleburg Va

We visite all but 2, but some of them were the M.A.R.E. CENTER very
interesting, Rock Rige Farm, Swim Center (had a therapy pool to
rehabilitate following injury or surgery. The training track opened ony
saturday at 7am to 10a.m. very young horses learning to carry weight and to
steer. some come back for retraining. Goose creek where they recounted to
actual battle there. (artillery demo calvalry demo) Heronwood Farm where
they had both Thouroughbreeds on one end of the farm and Alpacas on the
otherside of the farm. Beautiful farm. and many more. There was on private
farm named Avoca the lay out was was great and the land (view) was
outrageously beautiful.
My trainer said there are new farms each year. Next year we hope to go for
Upperville Horse Show.

Suddenly, without warning, Diane Fowler exclaimed (5/30/2006 10:24 AM):
A bunch of us from our farm went to Virginia for the stable tour weekend
in Middleburg Va. We visited assorted stables, reinactments of the civil
war, polo match, lots of shopping at the tack stores. We stay at a bed
and breakfast in Middleburg thats 520 acres and takes retired horeses.
My horse Willow is retired there with some of our school horses. She
has been there 5 years maybe and she looks great. There were 15 that
took the drive down from Connecticut, our instructor goes there almost
once a month to get away and this time made these arrrangement in
November. Very old civil war house and everything is OLD.

Next year we want to and hope to go for the Upperville show, should be
very interesting.

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.

Diane

If I may ask, which farms did you visit? Used to live in the area...
