Cindi-
as the daughter of a "God fearing member of the NRA"--i've grown up
around guns...and i would agree completely with don...especially his
last idea--drop the attitude of "crazy neighbors" and go for a visit.
be honest, and say it makes you nervous....and they will either do one
of many things:
-explain why you needn't be nervous-wer'e shooting this way, these are
the controls in place
-here, why don't we show you, and we'll work on accomodations so you
are less nervous
-uhm, go back across the fence line before we take target practice at
you <grin>
or any other scenarios.
now, having said that, i live in a development on half acre lots. so
the houses are close together. my next door neighbor is a "cop with a
attitude"...and he decided to fire his service weapon at a corn snake.
facing towards the front-where my then 2 year old son and i were
playing in our yard. firing at a snake on concrete pavers. (can
anyone say riccochet???). since he didn't seem to want to grasp that
he terrified me and what he did was completely illegal and
dangerous...my husband took it to a higher authority. and then pushed
the issue.
