Oops that's 14-15 feet for the waterers, inside might do with less like John

My husband and I had a new barn built, and we're currently working onAll you need is an extension pipe?. Would a pipe made by a local welder
finishing the inside ourselves. We're to the point of putting in the
water system, and we have Nelson automatic waterers for both inside in
the stalls and outside the barn. We need to have 7' deep holes drilled to
utilize geothermal heat for the waterers. Here is where the problem comes
in. We already have the lofts put in, and the bottom of the loft where
the holes are going gives about 9' of clearance. The people we've talked
to so far (excavators and water/well people) don't seem to have the
ability to drill a hole that deep, or would need big machines that need
more clearance. I know extensions for augers exist, and I already have a
42" auger (and have started the holes myself), and if I could find an
extension I could get the job done. Does anyone know of a
brick-and-mortar store (I'm in SW Ohio if that helps) that carries auger
extensions, or do I have to find one online and get it shipped? Or does
anyone have any other ideas on how to get this done? If anyone has
installed Nelson waterers and dealt with getting these holes drilled, I'd
love to hear about how you got them done. We can go with the heat tape
option and abandon the deep hole idea, but we'd rather leave that as a
last resort.
Thanks for any help or thoughts,
Karen
help? Is it a hand auger or one on a three point hitch of a tractor? How
deep are you putting the other water lines?Or how cold does it get there
in Ohio?
Why, we go to 19 feet for the waterers and put the waterlines at 10-12
feet. Alberta Canada
says.
Do you have water pressure handy? Blasting a pipe down in sandy soil needs
about 50-60 psi water pressure.
