So in your 40+ career you have seen 3-4 that had an extremely lateral canter (in I'm assuming non-gaited horses).

That comports with what I have been hearing up here.

That's correct....and I want to stress that when I say "extremely lateral", I mean no way would they have been able to get through a training level test, much less second level. They'd have scored 1s or 2s on the canter, which wasn't really a canter at all.
