Thank you. I have a book "Dressage for Beginners" by R. L.V. ffrench Blake
copyright 1973, first American edition 1976 that covers those topics in a
way that suits me well.
In the test, know exactly where the scored movements begin and end. That
way, if you have a problem, sacrifice the movement you are in and fix it so
that subsequent movements are not affected. (There's a psychological factor,
in the judges mind, that you cannot fix of course.)
My instructor and I have discussed "show riding" vs "training" as well.
Remember that I'm going to shows in order to make riding goals concrete, not
because I'm a show queen. I can definitely report now that if your mount
pitches a bucking fit during a test that, even if it's NOT a warmblood, you
are not invisible. :-)
