I don't like the jumping style breastplate for the reason you mentioned, I think it sits too high on the neck. For trail riding and cross country riding, I like a polo breastplate.



I'm fairly sure someone asked already - but here's my dumb question: - what do the tea-cosy and ear gloves do - are they fly protection, a head training aid or what?

Ear net. It keeps those annying little midges out of the ears and keeps the pony's attention on the rider. It keeps head shaking from even starting. Okay, so my horses are spoiled.
