I think most "regular" Canadians know this. When I diss Dubya - I'm not
dissing "regular" Americans either. I have no idea if John Kerry would have
been worse. He had/has some bad attitudes about Canada too.

One of the many things that really rips me about the U.S. government is
their constant refusal to admit they've lost the battle on softwood lumber
and to give us our 5 billion dollars back. The World Trade Organisation and
NAFTA have ruled against the U.S. on this, but they insist on carrying it
on. I realize they have reduced the crippling tariffs they have been
charging on cross-border shipments but that doesn't help the lumber mills
that have already closed and the hundreds of jobs lost because of it.
Canada has been allowed by the WTO to begin retaliation, which we have done,
but it's only in the millions, on things like orange juice (and something
else, but I can't remember what).

It's funny, once a number of nations began retaliation on steel, the U.S.
caved pretty fast. Dubya and his crew don't seem to understand the damage
they're doing to their nation. (shrug).

Another U.S. group that needs their ass kicked is the R-Calf bunch of idiots
in Montana. Blaming us for mad cow - hell those guys probably kept to the
"shoot, shovel and shut-up" doctrine and didn't let anybody know about their
"mad cows". To say there was only one in the whole U.S. of A??? Who do
they think they're kidding?

Okay - rant off. Back to our regularly scheduled activities (grin)
