Thanks Jan. The socks that are primarily green, blue and yellow
were made of: Fortissima Colori Socka Color #9071, it comes in 50 gram
balls so you'll need two of course. I got this yarn at my LYS and it
was $8.50 a ball. The socks that have the pink and red stripes (along
with the green and blue) is: Moda Dea Sassy Stripes which also comes
in 50 gram balls. I got this at the local craft store - similar to
Micheals, it was called Craftmart and has since closed because the
owners retired. I believe it was $7.00 a ball or somewhere around that
figure.
It was the first time I've worked with a self patterning yarn and
because I wanted the stripes to match on each sock, I had to unravel
the yarn from each ball until I found the same color sequence. There's
usually plenty of yarn to do this, my cuffs are 7 to 8 inches long and
I had quite a bit of yarn left over. I measured out how much yarn I
would need for my cast on and made the starting cast on loops at the
same place on each ball of yarn. The ball I wasn't using, I secured
the loop with a tiny stitch holder so I wouldn't lose my place. The
stripes did match up perfectly! Let us know how you get on!
