Re: OT--another free ng server

hey, Judie,
has that quilt arrived at sisters place yet?
just wishful think'n on my part i guess, lol.
after the marathon sessions you've put in the past couple of weeks getting
it finished and posted off i'm anxious to hear her response when she sees
it.

anyhow, i checked out motzarella awhile ago and iirc it was the register'n
needed with a real addy that put me off so i like this one.
it uses my settings from aioe re email reply addy etc so works well for me.
it was so easy too, just clicked on the link on that page and it opened OE
and added the server to my list.
then all i had to do was wait the few minutes for all the group names to
download so i could choose rctq.
i've not looked but there were thousands of different groups on this server
so on the odd occasion i need to ask some other weird question in another
group i'm a happy camper.
fingers crossed this one keeps work'n for a long time.
cheers,
j.

on this page is a bunch of servers.
i tried the first one by just clicking on it and it opened in my Outlook
Express using all the settings i had already for the aioe (sp?) i was
using
that stopped for some reason or another so had to read thru google til i
found this.
no registering there, no cost, no hassle setting up OE, just click on the
link for that first one and see how you get on. tho you do have to wait
while the full list of thousands of the ngs they carry downloads to your
OE,
then use the search box looking for 'quilt' and rctq comes up, the only
one
of course, lol. then subscribe to that, all thru your own isp, easy peasy.
i've replied once to Boca Jan about her missing banner and it seems to
have
gone thru ok.
if this post also goes thru i'll assume i'm back in business in OE as
usual.
i really dont like using google tho i did take the time there to report a
couple of recent spammers, fwiw.
just thot i'd post this for those of you who read thru OE and want/need
another server.
cheers,
j.

Thanks, Jeanne. I was wondering what was going on with aioe since it
just stopped working for me, I kept getting the message that the server
had timed out. So I signed up with motzarella and have been using them
with no problem but nice to have a back up.

Judie
