When we got married DH had a cat that thought "food" was Purina Cat Chow. Nothing else was really "food", not even canned tuna or canned food. <G> She might eat other stuff, but she let us know that it wasn't what she considered proper and right.
Right now we have way toooooooooo many cats/kittens in the house. Need to find homes for several, and get some others just plain out of the house. Momma cats were having some problems, so we started to wean the little ones, and supplement the mommas, with a bit of canned food at bedtime. Now about that time I become very popular. <VBG> Have a herd following me around and into the kitchen. It is sort of cute, but we really need to find homes for these loving kittens who love being with people and are "indoor" cats. sigh. (wrong time of year..... even the Humane Society is saying that they would be put down because they are too full.)

Your traditional feline in the wild wouldn't give a vegetable the time
of day. Ever seen a lion fanging into a celeriac?
So perhaps that's why she won't eat the Newmans. After a long time on
a bland diet perhpas she was just hanging out for a tasty change.
My cats often had fussy periods but got over them. Just had to be
patient. We sort of mixed the old and new together until they reverted
back. None of them ever starved to death.
