Great job Melanie! The sashing worked out great, too! It will bring back
lots of memories for both the kids and their teacher. Hope someone at the
school takes a good photo before it's finally cut up.

Here is the banner I asked for your help with. My 8-yo daughter's class
had each painted a design onto a 1' square of fabric. The teacher wanted
me to assemble them into a banner, in such a way they could be cut up at
the end of the year, and each child given his or her own artwork back.
Someone here suggested using sashing, which I thought was a great idea. I
eventually persuaded the teacher (although I later found out she didn't
have a clue what I meant, even though I drew a sketch and everything), and
my sister Stephanie helped me assemble the banner. It took two of us a
whole day.
There is a photo at:

With my daughter's square enlarged because I'm proud of her!
