I have a machine that does the same thing, if I understand you
correctly, and it is easily remedied by a good cleaning, oiling and a
size larger needle. It is one of my favorite machines but when there
is a little lint in it I get skipped stitches and broken thread.
Weird because it took me a while to figure this out since it didn't
look like enough lint to make a difference. Just a bit finicky
machine.
Tried the different needle, done the cleaning! :-(
