Re: Access rctq from google groups, anywhere, anytime

Debra, total non-techie that I am I understood about 1/4 of the words in
your post! LOL But I'm sure it was excellent info for 'The People In The
Know'!

I use google groups to access the newsgroup; all you need to do is get
a google email addy and you have acess to this and a lot of other
groups. If you don't know anyone that can "invite" you to join google
email, let me know and I will send you an invite. Dead simple, as Pat
on the hill would say!
This way you can keep up from any computer in the world.

Sure Google works from any computer and it's free so if you are happy
with it, that's good for you.

I prefer downloading messages to a news group & email reader from a NG
server over reading messages online via a web browser.

I don't waste time downloading unnecessary web page images, java
script, applets, or web page ads each time I click a new message. In
the time it takes you to go from one message thread to another I can
read, and reply to, three or four messages because I can instantly
move from message to message, and instantly move from group messages
to email. No annoying frames like on Google. There are no pop-ups
auto downloading from my news group server like you get on the net, so
less chance of getting a computer virus. I can filter all the trolls,
spammers, or obnoxious posters easily and I haven't seen posts from
pup-py wizard or M15 and others like them on any newsgroup, even new
ones, for years. My server provides access to more news groups than
Google and retains binary posts longer.
