I hope you figure them out! I'm also sitting here with a new machine. I took the plunge and went for the Brother Innov-is QC 1000. After saying last week I wouldn't take the offer of a free serger, I find that Brother are offering a serger free with some of their machines, you have to send off for it and it takes 6 weeks. DH has done his research and checked they are reliable over it and found they have an online tracking system, we'll take copies of everything, obviously. The store also said to come to them if we have any issues with them actually producing it! I tried to not let this influence me, I'm not going to say no, but I made myself consider the machine for what it was, after all, I'm spending the money serger or not! Luckily the shop offers unlimited teaching, and will do that for the serger as well. The manual for the sewing machine is understandable to me, though I wonder how much that is due to for something that I know the basics of or not.
I'm both excited and nervous, I feel that I have to make a commitment to really learn this machine and use it's full capabilities, I don't work (my visa doesn't allow it), so this is DH's hard earned money, he's one of those men who never sees it as his money, he also obviously takes great pleasure in seeing me happy and enjoying something, which is wonderful, but a responsibility too! I wish I could suggest something that he could get - he did get a new racing bike recently, which even though it's his commuting transport, he seems to get great pleasure from it. We also bought a vacuum cleaner, been as it's the same shop, but it hardly seems the same league, he gets to figure that out and then do the cleaning, whilst I get to create!
Sunny, I'm so glad you could make your friend smile, I hope they can find a balance of managing her pain versus being very groggy, or at least that the groggy side effect goes away faster than any increase in pain.
Anne
