No, I don't. I find it quite scary that if say, I posted a pretty off
colour joke about a jew, two polish guys and an african american (not that I
would) I could wind up with the FBI on my doorstep because someone was
offended and knew someone.

What's to stop someone who doesn't like the music their neighbour down the
street plays - or that he sits on the porch reading XXXXX rated magazines
and then ogling girls/guys that walk past - reporting him to a friend who
works for the FBI/CIA/ABC and that "friend" turning up on their doorstep.

Sometimes I feel that people take things way too far. Whilst I see this
group as an extended family, it really is just a bunch of people spread all
over the world with lots of other people we don't know about listening in.
Some of the details that people give have made it easy for trolls to turn
into real life stalkers. But the majority of trolls just couldn't be
bothered and if you ignore them and dont go OTT like some of the reactions
here, they'd go away.

Besides, I think it's kinda funny to know that a few years from now, when
that putz tries to get a job or secure a loan, that somewhere in his

FBI! And to know that he's put on a long list of "possibles" for sexual
crimes for his scatology! :)

Now, really, you don't find that the least bit funny? Maybe I'm a tad bit

the warped side myself ... he came in here hoping to shock the
stereotypical
"little ol' ladies" and he's going to end up shocked himself - and I find
that ironic AND funny!! :)

For the record, they do take this sort of thing more seriously than
they
used to ... too many times, sexual offenders have begun their "careers"
with
scatology and cyber stalking. Most serial sex offenders start out
"minor"
with scatology (though usually over the phone or via mail - but, hey!
this
is a new age, right?!) and escalate over time. A friend of my mom's did
his
thesis for his PhD (and published papers that the FBI's BAU uses to
this
day) on the subject. If you can stand the subject matter, it was
actually
a
very interesting read (my mom proofread it for him - and I got to read
it,
too - at the time, I was thinking of following in my mom's footsteps. I
already had a slot waiting for me at the FBI academy, but followed in
Dad's
footsteps instead - less chance of bullet wounds involved - and graphic
artists don't usually have to deal with horrible crime scene photos,
either).

This is more serious than you think. We have had 2 separate
incidents
from
Trolls on here that WERE STALKERS. Neither of those gals (victims)
post
on
here anymore. One received life threats and had to get more than
just

local authorities in on it. AFAIK both Stalkers were apprehended.
One was NOT in the US.

It was NOT something that anyone should go thru.
