Re: OT and not: Quilter's Newsletter

i had a similar experience with a teen magazine for my daughter, i
received these magazines at my new address under my old married name.
i never ordered it. i figured i'd let the subscription run out and
that would be the end of it. no such luck. i rec'd a bill for renewal
in my real name. i thought, ok. i'll renew in my real name cuz she
liked the mag. so...i then get a renewal notice under my old name.
ignored it. that one went to collection. i called the toll free
number, got a person. explained the situation, she cancelled the 'old'
name acct. and kept the "real" name account. ok, so...i now get double
the mags in the mail. i havent paid anyone in 2 yrs. i dont get it.
{{{sigh}}}
people at those jobs are dumb....

I gave up on QNM several years ago. It's really changed- and not for the
better IMNSHO. I'm surprised they didn't just cut off your magazines and
leave it at that. Not so nice people- for quilters.....

Good luck dealing with those collection creeps. Yuck. :-(

I have subscribed to this magazine since 1989 - almost 19 years. I
recently was going to renew my subscription, but then changed my mind
after sending the postcard back in for a two-year renewal. I sent them
a letter indicating my change, and to cancel my subscription. Never
heard from them, which is normal, since the only time I would hear is
at renewal time.

You can only imagine what went through my mind when I received a
collection letter from North Shore Collection Agency in Westbury, New
york, demanding payment. Of course, the phone number listed on the
letter is automated. So, a letter is going out in this morning's mail.

While I have seen a lot of changes in this publication over the years
and was an avid reader of their articles, this has just got to take
the cake.

Thank you for letting me vent,
back to our regularly scheduled quilting,
Ginger in CA
