OT: Mayo Clinic Update

I just got a call from the Mayo Clinic, saying a certain doctor will see me. I don't know if I'm being overly anxious and not trusting that they wouldn't make an appointment for me if they didn't think he could help, but I looked him up on the Mayo Clinic site and he's listed as a foot and ankle specialist, http://www.mayoclinic.org/orthopedicsurgery-sct/10650920.html
I also did a general google on him and can find lots of references to research he has done relating to the ankle, but nothing relating to the hip - the problem I have is a labral tear in the hip.

I feel so confused, I have not been able to find anyone to get a 2nd opinion from locally, and I feel with the current information I have, I'm not able to make a decision, either positive or negative about surgery and I do need to make one either way eventually - I could do more physical therapy, but if that doesn't work, it wouldn't make me be positive about the person here doing the surgery and having done an awful lot of physical therapy anyway, I doubt it's suddenly going to work.

Frustratingly several messages I left last week in the hope of getting another name locally have not been returned. The appointment I've been offered at the Mayo Clinic is fairly soon 10th July, so if I'm going to go, I need to book flights asap.
