Dharma used to carry them. The Dylon black was what they recomended
when you needed to dye a fabric that contained both protien and
cellulose black. I never got to try it because their supplier gave
out about the time I was able to afford my first order of velvet.

I have used the Dylon Cold Dye, you do and I mean do need the fix that works
with the dylon dye. With out the fix, sure your fabric will be colored only
up until you start to rinse the fabric. Other then that, the colors are
really good, probably not as good as what you can get from Dharma trading
Co. but for starting out its a great way to experiment with. Play with the
water amounts that come with the instructions. less water more intense dye
color, more water and more fabric, a more watery effect on the fabric. Also
the dylon cold water dyes are only for natural fabric, e.g., cotton, wool,
silk. It will work on poly cotton, but not as well as the natural fabric. ok
that is the end of my demo of dylon cold water... how can you tell that I
used to work for a craft store, and no it wasn't Michael's or that other
one,( I think I am glad that I have never seen one of those either from what
I have been reading about it.) But I sure do miss working in the fabric
store.
Currently working on a quilt kit,,, the Wheel of mystery.. who knew that
working with curves could be so much fun and aggravation..

Has anybody ever used this product? I got a dozen different colors for
$1 at a garage sale. They're still wrapped in plastic. I'd love to
hear if anybody has experience with these.
