Like Sandy, I have her previous book, but I also took a class from her as
she was writing this one (and spent a week at a retreat with her last
January -- she was working on a quilt where RED was the neutral. *grin*).
Lots of fun! My only disappointment was that I had always heard that MCs are
hard to do and the three I've done following her directions have been
downright easy. :)

No, I don't get a share of the profits, but I want to recommend this book,
because I think it is excellent:
Mariner's Compass Quilts: Setting a New Course New Process, New Patterns,
New Projects
Author: Judy Mathieson
I just did my first ever Mariner's Compass (sorry no pic at this time). It
is 15" in a 17" block. It has 16 points, all split. No, the points are not
perfect, but it certainly meets the galloping horse test.
I think the instructions are great and the patterns are good too.
Oh, and her description of how to block the block took the cone right out
of it :-)
