Kathyl:
You must be rattled ... you signed your initials wrong!! LOL
Could you change the border somehow so it ends up square? Suggestion:
one band black, one band of scrappy brights, one band black ... do this for top and bottom, sizing bands to even out the measurements. THEN, add the funky borders from Joanne's Pattern.

I've been furiously working on a workshop project this week so I can put away the fabrics that are involved. This project is a combination of 1.5, 3, and 6" triangles and diamonds. When it was laid out on my design wall, it was difficult to keep the diagonal rows lined up because of the number of seam allowances. Am I being clear enough? Anyway, after getting all the colors, sizes and design figured out, I've been sewing them together for the past couple of days. Today I got it finished.....and I've made an extra row in the center!!!! The top isn't square, it's a rectangle that is wider than tall. Sheesh! I've used some novelty fabric that are specifically oriented to be "right side up". I know I could add an extra row at the bottom by opening up the seam lines a little bit, but honestly, I don't know if I could face sewing another hundred or so triangles together!!! I doubt I would have to cut much more, I have a lot of triangles left over. So, I guess I have to figure out if I have the right stuff to make it square, or if I'm content with it as a rectangle. I still have to put an applique border on it..
I'll put the link to the workshop quilt here:

Hummm I like her's better.
I think I'll go to a band concert and forget that I spent HOURS sewing those triangles into blocks, the blocks into rows and then the rows together! Bias can be your friend!
