that's it, jagged edges... Kaffe says it is not hard to bind... I'll see. Not sure how to calculate how muh binding to make though (I know, a lot more than I think!)
the kids dad is a great guy, I love working with him. they are sending him to the same small dayare sofi goes to, so he will be her buddy as well!

Fantastic quilt ... the child is very lucky to have you as a friend! Are you planning to bind it with the jagged edges, or will you be adding triangles to fill in? I made a quilt with similar shape (8 outside corners and 8 inside corners) and it was NOT easy to bind. I was a newbie at the time, but I ended up sending it out for binding. Well, you asked about color. I suggest a Yellow Binding! PAT in VA/USA

Sofi was sick, so I stayed home two days this week & made a big dent in quilting projects... now that she is better I have her cold.. :o(
I posted a pic of my last project, a playmat for a friend whose newborn kid has two quilts already (his grandma is a quilter too). I was inspired by Kaffe Fasset caravan of quilts book: the 5 de mayo quilt (that one is very red though). Great book, I am making the fabric trays next. So, what colour would you use for the binding? The backing is magenta flannel with swirls in all primary colours (nobody knew the gender, I wanted to over all bases, but my gut feeling that it was a boy was right, hence the blue quilt!)
