Re: Mastectomy over/OT/Pami

Glad to hear from you!
I was fretting a bit because I set an 8 hour candle for your surgery
and it burned away in less than four.
Take care of you!
Sleep, eat, drink, and do as little worrying as you can.
I'll second the pillow recomendation, they really do help. One that
has a bit of a hollow that will fit over the the ouchiest part might
be more comfy for you.

I am home but not sure if I did the right thing but didn't have a choice. I
didn't feel disfigured in the hospital but when I came home and put normal
clothes on it hit me like a rock. My son was just with me when I busted
down, I knew it would happend just wasn't sure when. I am sure in time I
will get a reconstruction but if the other breast has that same EIC I might
decide to get that off reconstruct both. at the same time. For now I have
to work on killing the cancer. I know I had lymphovascular involment but
not sure if they got all of that or for the breast...I won't know until
Tuesday. I am still very, very weak. I thought I felt good when I left the
hospital but now that I am home I am so drained. I feel as all the life has
been sucked out of me. I didn't get the chemo port put in that will have to
be put in this week. It's hard to believe it will be 3 surgeries in 2
weeks....and yet I have to be strong enough for chemo I haven't even began
to heal form the mastectomy yet. Gals..I hope I can fight this
battle......but now I am so weak. I am coughing now and it just is ripping
thorugh me.
Not sure even what's up with me tears today ....they are buring the skin on
my face terrible . I wonder if that is a sign dehydration??
To all who helped me Thank you. If everybody could send me some energy that
would be great but only I can rebuild that.
I did have a "brain-storm" in the hospital and that was to get a white chemo
cap ...brim style and collect pins for the cap from all my friends. When my
dad had cancer they had a gal who had a hat like that and it was pins form
all over the world and she was so proud of it...so if you have a pin to
share with me...I would ear it with pride..
