When my sis was at UCLA and in her most liberal days (no coincidence they were at the same time) she got into an argument with my contractor
brother. She was trying to enlighten him in that everyone should take
the bus. He suggested that his workers would get little work done without their equipment. SHe said he should do some other work then.
She has since come to reality and her hubby is on the road all day : )
I hope you at least don't sit in a lot of traffic jams Donna?

Pretty hard to walk when the closest grocery store is 5 miles away and they don't carry much and what they do carry is high. Next closest store is 10, next closest is 17 miles. Don't really want to carry a week's worth of groceries 17 miles and I don't like the store that is 10 miles away!
Also pretty hard to walk when the majority of jobs are at least that same 17 miles away - most further away. Some of us have no choice - we drive. I try to consolidate my trips as much as possible, however, most things I need to do are at the very least 25 miles from my house.
If I bought gas 10 gallons at a time, that would mean that 'every' time I leave the house, I would have to stop by the gas station. I'd much rather do that once a week, not 2 or 3 times a week.
