Table Runner Challenge

Our Guild challenge this year was to come up with a table runner/topper ,
representing a season. Any kind of season.

In our membership packet was some oddly colored yellow fabric that had to
be included on the FRONT of the table runner/topper.

I looked at it and looked at it and didn't have a clue what I was going to
do.

Then Nann sent me a squishy that had sunflowers on it. Hmmmmm.

Then Larisa sent me a squishy that was ORANGE! I saw this block in my head
as soon as I saw the orange fabric.

So, because of Nann and Larisa, I have a table runner for my guild
challenge. I think I'll call it A Sunflower Day. All I have to do now is
quilt and bind. Oh and I have to add some kind of embellishment. Not sure
what I'll do. Maybe an appliquéd or embroidered bee. Wait, bee's don't
like sunflowers I don't think.

I'll think of something.

Oh! This was a really cool block to do. I saw Fons and Porter doing some
curved blocks a few weeks ago and it looked fun and they swore it was easy
and guess what? It was! The middle part is paper pieced. I got the block
from EQ.

Anyway, I couldn't wait to get this picture up so I will have to do it again
after I quilt it.

Just letting Larisa and Nann know how much your squishies were appreciated!

Cindy > it's in my Quilts folder if anyone wants to look.
