Anyone have any tips or suggestions on mq'ing unmarked feathers?
I've been messing with them on charity quilts but they are very far
from stellar!

Taria, feathers (especially *un*marked) are just about my favorite
quilting pattern! I took a class from Kathy Sandbach a couple of years
ago and learned to do them there. They're not perfect, but so what? <G>
She had us start by doodling feathers on paper. As soon as she saw mine,
she allowed as how some people just don't get along well with pencil and
paper and had me start doing the same thing with the sewing machine
instead. Whew! It's easier to do with the machine than with a pencil,
IMO. LOL!
She told us to "think fat" so we'd get nice plump feathers instead of
elongated chili peppers. ;) Her book , _Show Me How to Machine Quilt_,
is very helpful. HTH.
