Actually, Kellie, the ladybugs alone are soooooo simple! Start with a
1/2 square triangle made of two reds. Make like a melon patch block
and sew cream color squares diagonally across three corners and a black
square on the fourth corner for the head. That's it! Sew strips to
the 2 sides of the head like a log cabin- or to all four sides. Add
black dots by fusing the dots in place and machine stitch the antennas.
A really easy way to make the black dots is to iron a paper backed
fusible web to a piece of black fabric and use a paper punch to make
the "holes" (dots), then peel off the backing paper and fuse the
"holes" in place. Voila!

About ten years ago, I designed a large sampler quilt for my guild to
make one section every month for a year. I have the blocks I made to
test the patterns and I'll NEVER do anything with these blocks. They
are very colorful and based on "country" themes- but not really
"country" type fabric prints- predominately beiges, reds, blues and
greens- a barn, house, ladybugs, hen and chicks, flowers, apples,
angel, baskets, etc. They are all sizes with squares and rectangles,
but all are based on 2 in. increment- 4x4 in. 6x6 in., 8x8 in, 8x12
in., etc. Most blocks have several other filler type blocks sewn to
them and run about 2X2 ft. to 3 ft. square but some are single blocks.
I have quite a few 4X4 in. filler blocks, too, like 4 patch, square in
a square, spools, bow ties, half square triangles, hearts, etc. that
are to be used like sachings.
I want them to go to quilters who will *use* them in some manner- they
are not offered for stash building, please. I won't make any promises,
but will take requests if there's something you'd specifically like to
have. They are well made 100% cotton (of course!) with matching seams
and pointy points. <vbg> I snapped some pics without even bothering
to iron them, so use your imagination-
