And that's the same reaction I initially had. But everything else was
working just fine -- *until* I reinstalled the printer each time. :S

I didn't have to feed one *** at a time, but I agree with you about
the cost of the cartridges -- I almost went into shock when I bought the
last replacement set. Unfortunately, I still have some of them left.
Does anyone need #96 (black) or #97 (tri-color) cartridges? I have two
of each left over -- unopened boxes -- that I'll gladly sell *cheap*! <G>

As I said in my earlier message, I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of
my Canon! I've ordered the Pixma MP800, which is rated pretty highly by
other users. At Costco online, it costs less than the HP I've returned
did, and it has some features I'll really enjoy (two-sided printing, two
paper trays, etc.), even though it doesn't have a fax. :)
