My on line friend and I were talking about machines we have. I had got
her into quilting just by talking about it to her over the net. Anyhow
she mentioned her Janome and she was keeping her Kenmore for a backup
and someday she will have her mom's treadle that she had bought for her
mom and then goes on to say oh, I got one at a garage sale last year
that she thought was a singer in a little black like train carrying case
or suitcase. She paid 10 bucks for it. I told her do you realize you
pobably have a FW, a machine that most quilters want, known for the
perfect straight stitch and I told her how much they usually cost..She
said well it is little not like the biger machines. She went and got it
out of it's case, excellent condition..Serial number shows it to be made
around 1950..At the garage sale where this machine was, it was the
girl's great aunt's machine at one time. My friend was passing it by and
her other half is the one that got money out of his wallet and payed for
it and brought it home and it sat for almost a whole year till
yesterday. Lucky find, I just had to share because I am so excited for
her. 10 bucks and I paid 500 plus for mine when I just had to have
one..Michele

What a lucky gal she is! I just LOVE mine, *and* it was a gift from a friend! :)
