I'll echo that one. The first time I sent a quilt out to be quilted, I
was promised (verbally) a certain price. The quilter took much longer to
finish the quilt than I'd expected, and then she charged me just about
double what she'd originally quoted me. I wish I'd had the original
quote in writing, but there was nothing I could do at that point. It
left a really bad taste in my mouth, I can tell you!
The second time (and, so far, the last <G>) I sent one out, it was to a
friend who was learning to long-arm. She's giving me a special price, so
I've told her that I'm not in any rush; I know she'll do a great job,
though, since I've seen some of the others she's done in the meantime.
Waiting has merely given her time for more practice, which is to my
benefit! :)
