Instead of doing a clean install of the OP, I would recommend disabling the
restore feature (if you use XP), clean the virus or worm according to
Symantec directions and then enable the restore after a reboot. You may
avoid having to do a full install of the OP. BTDT.

:I would stay away from Norton's products,
: My Dh works on Computers and he has found that the
: # 1 problem with most computers is Norton's products. Not only this, but
: are even harder to remove from a system
: If you already have a viruses or worm, and they are repeating, the best
: thing to do is a clean install of your OP ( long format)
: Then reinstall on clean system
: Next I would Buy and update Trend Micro's -Pc-cillin Internet Security
get
: all updates for your Windows OS (Windows Update)
:
: and do this before, going anywhere else on the internet!!!!
:
: Next download Ad-Aware Se Personal (free)
: Install and keep updated on all programs
:
: Many problems start when the user does not update there security programs
: ( and now many companies have the option for auto-update)
: and the best advice is to keep everything updated, esp. your Virus
software.
:
: popup's- try Google's tool bar It will not catch all of them, only greatly
: reduce the numbers.
:
:
:
: NOTE: if you are unable to afford to buy Pc-cillin Internet Security's,
try
: looking at eBay for an older copy, Then you can pay a much lower price to
: update it to the newest copy. ( download)
: If you cannot afford even this, the next best would be to download a free
: copy of AGV, but keep in mind when a new worm or virus hits the net, you
: might get hit, as AGV has now moved into trying to force there users to
Buy
: the software now, and the buyers are able to download the newest updates
: First.
