The prayer service this morning? No, listened to part of it. We did watch
everything yesterday.

This morning I just happened to catch on MSNBC the people at the State
Dept. greeting Hilary Clinton on her first day. Wow! I've heard reports
about the demoralization of state dept. employees during the last
administration, but the greeting that she got amazing...reminiscent of
the oppressed meeting an army of liberators or something along those
lines. She gave an excellent speech and then sent people off to work. I
thought the whole thing was very well done.

Yup, it was pretty nice. We have a pretty close friend who's a statie -
works on a desk here, travels a lot. Getting ready, IIRC, for a foreign
posting eventually, but she's really a foreign relations analyst. Her
sister (a stitcher) is a DoJ labor lawyer, who also has had the thrill of
observing elections to be sure they're legally held. Anyhow, I'll get some
scoop from our pal, and see what she has to say. Most importantly, these 2
great women are part of our hockey crew!

Of course, my DH has been demoralized for about a year since the a-hole they
brought in from industry really showed his true colors, and he's been stuck
for a couple of years waiting for a death to be promoted. The wonders of
the great experiment of pay-banding - used at his place. Truly stinks.
But, we'll see - we've got some positive indicators, but you never know.
