Could be.  My wrists aren't the strongest.   I think it's also in the
height of the person doing the pulling.  I'm short and I suppose my
center of gravity might be lower then whoever designed that door.

I will fess up and tell you what happened the last time they let me
struggle with the door.  A dozen eggs fell off the door when I finally
got it opened and stumbled against it.  My friends were not happy with
me having to clean 12 raw eggs off the tile floor.   Not a pretty
sight!!!!   lol

How much do you pay for a dozen eggs?

I pay $2.89 a dozen, but I buy organic free range, cage free brown
eggs.

I can get cage free easily, but no one locally seems to have real free range
eggs.

We had semi-free range chickens until Br'er bear came to visit
numerous times last spring and summer. In March we hadd 27
chickens. We now have one lone hen who lives in the loft with the
racing pigeons. It is closer to the house than the chicken pen was.
Mr/Mrs Bear did pull the piece of plywood off of the back one night
but the sound of the falling nest boxes on the opposite side of the
wire startled him enough that he ran off. If we had true "free range"
chickens, they would have been eaten long ago by raccoons, skunks,
coyotes, bobcats, foxes and, probably, the occasional wandering bear.
Oh, I forgot about the random predatory bird. :-) We're going to
rebuild this spring though, and a friend is going to help us get a new
flock of chicks (it's hard to buy things by mail order without credit
cards). By NEXT spring I should be able to go back to supplying my
EGA friends with fresh eggs again. :-))))) They miss the eggs and I
miss the money. :-))))))))) I also miss the chickens. They're great
therapy and as good for stress reduction as petting a hairy cat or
watching fish in a tank - if you have the space for them. :-) There's
nothing quite like sitting on an up-ended cement block and watching
chickens act like chickens. :-)
