I don't know or care. I can still do my part. Gasoline is back to
1.49 USD a gallon again. It's not the money, it's the idea. And
maybe VP Gore does keep his living quarters that cool. We don't know.
Putting layers on during the day is my big problem. Everyone should
have such problems. Poor me, I have to wear my Land's End silk long
johns under my pashmina! Really, I hardly suffer. There are people
up in New England who still have no electricity. I heard 4k people
still no power. How many pipes burst, I wonder.

Updated daily when able.

Tonight there are 56,000 Nova Scotians without electricity. Last
night the wind raved to hurricane gusts and took siding off houses,
felled trees over power lines and houses. The tide surged and
covered nearby areas with sea pebbles, it's a mess. People are stuck
at the airport (some not sure they will get out before Xmas) and
people stuck in port on the Newfoundland ferries, though it does look
as if they will be okay to sail tomorrow.

More snow forecast every other day now until after Xmas and into the
weekend. It's a mess.

Yikes - so sorry to hear about this. Assuming you're snug at home - hope
the family, etc is all secure.

Here, this morning, a huge -8' diameter water main burst in Bethesda (kind
of NW suburb - close-in. The water was raging, several cars stuck in the
middle of the torrent. Fortunately the fire/rescue squad that does the
water rescue is literally about 1/2 mile from worst (River Rd & Fenway).
They had the rescuing of folks in the cars on live TV. Amazing. Though it
took sooooo long for them to deal with shutting the water flow down,
millions of gallans. My DA in FLA called - this at about 8:45 am - to see
if we were affected. I had to tell her that we're fine - though DH works
pretty near there - and it is indeed the back road we take when going for
lunch - and about 1/5 miles from where my extended family DA used to live.
It was so weird - 1600 miles apart - and watching the same thing on the
news.

Anyhow, hope you're doing okay - hopes for the best going your way.
