But you made up your mind long ago about me, and nothing's going to
change your mind that I'm just a whiner who makes mountains out of
molehills. Not even the heaps of medical evidence showing there are
similarities to both MS and polio, and that advanced cases are on the
verge of heart failure. Dr. Nancy Klimas, medical researcher, says
"there's evidence that the patients with this illness experience a level
of disability that's equal to that of patients with late-stage AIDS,
patients undergoing chemotherapy, patients with multiple sclerosis. And
that has certainly given it a level of credibility that should be easily
understood..." Except by people, like you, who've made up their minds,
without seeing any patients first-hand, that there's nothing wrong that
can't be cured with a kick in the butt.

Do you know the definition of whining? See above for a great example.

Oh, so now citing factual evidence is whining?

Here's the opinion of a mental health worker, who has heard her share of
whining from her clients:
"I work in mental health and have become very adept at recognizing people
who are unnecessarily self-pitying or negative or manipulative, as some of
you have suggested about Karen. I just don't see this in Karen's
comments."

Lois sees exactly what I see -- people reading into factual statements
"whining" because they know that in the same circumstances, they'd be
whining and looking for sympathy and cannot imagine that there's not a
whiny undertone to what they're reading. People project themselves onto
others, and see in others what they see in themselves ... regardless of
whether it's actually there.

No. Repeating "factual evidence" over and over again so as to prove your
point like a child is whining. My knee can hurt like hell from arthritis.
Telling you once is factual evidence, telling it to you 100 times is
whining. Making sure you know that my pain is far worse than anyone else's
could ever possibly be, well that's psychotic. This isn't a courtroom, you
don't need to bring in "professional" opinions about your character in order
to prove the rest of us wrong. That's just absolutely ridiculous AND
childish. Downright silly. I'm embarrassed for you. Give up the lawyer
act. Reality check: you're not one! Stop overcompensating for your
failure in life. MY "professional" opinion remains: you're a whiner.
There, I said it.

You know what the most ridiculous thing about this whole conversation is??
It was started in order to point out your "Dear Red States" letter was
offensive. But instead of taking responsibility for it, you belabor it
until eventually it comes back around to how great you are and you're
nothing but a victim. Poor Karen. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Grow up.

J.
