Re: Netscape Warning

Firefox allows you to read newsgroups. I use it for that all the time.

It is a nice browser. Another you might want to look at is Chrome. A new one from Google (free). A lot of serious geeks are a bit concerned about its stability and potential security issues. I don't use it regularly, but do make sure that my sites work in it.

IE should be toast. It is a terrible web browser and more and more people are turning away from it. As are programmers who design add-ons for websites.

When Netscape stopped working for me about a year-and-a half ago, I switched over to Firefox and then to SeaMonkey. They are both Mozilla, the same as Netscape, and look almost exactly the same. They both imported all my bookmarks and e-mail addresses without having to do anything. Plus the get updated regularly. I use IE only when I absolutely have to (say, if a site won't open in one of the other browsers).

OK -- here's my problem -- I use Netscape 7.2 to read my newsgroups and that's the ONLY thing I use it for. If it goes belly up, I will be S.O.L for reading the groups. I don't understand the intricacies of all this stuff **at all** the best I can do is understand that I pay news.individual.net to provide me with access to the newsgroups and then I go through Netscape to be able to actually read them.
So, if Netscape 7.2 goes bye-bye, then I will need some other internet access "thing" to be able to read the info provided by news.individual.net. When it comes to having to download some new "thing" and then trying to set the whole &$#(*$&^$ thing up, I get VERY pissy because just about none of them are easy for MOI to use.
VBS -- I can guarantee I will be posting here screaming for help finding a way to actually access the newsgroups and then figuring out how to use the *($*$&% thing. To make matters worse, I am having to try and learn how this VISTA "thing" works! OY THE PAIN -- LOLOL CiaoMeow >^;;^<
