It`s not that bad these days. Did you know that it originated long ago as

corruption of the old oath "By Our Lady"?

Actually no, I didn't know that. Language is so interesting. A word
here cold be totally meaningless, but elsewhere it can be the durge.
I watched "The Queen" again last night. It was on HBO or some such. I
tell you, that movie, if even half of it is true I feel sorry for the
lot. I cannot imagine being forced to be blank stare all the time.
Is the Queen really that tight? Poor thing if she is.
Victoria
In public, at least. From all accounts when just being "family at home"
she`s just like anyone else. (As far as she can be, I suppose). Even in
public, you do occasionally see her apparently giving a slightly naughty
looking aside and even a good hearty laugh, but such moments are rare.
I love the moment on the balcony after the birthday celebrations this year
and flypast when the Duke apparently farted. Everyone (except the Queen)
jumped, stepped back and most of them obviously found it difficult to
maintain a straight face. Some didn`t (Prince Harry in particular). Even
the Duke grinned.
