I was at college, but not stranded. We rather liked being there. :)

My big blizzard joke was about my boyfriend, born in California, raised in the South. The morning after the blizzard, he called and called and couldn't roust me (nor my roommates). They had 2" and the whole county was shut down. Not a plow nor a snow shovel to be had. (His mom had found the kids' beach toys in the garage and was trying to clear the front path with a kiddie sand shovel and matching plastic bucket.)

He finally got hold of me after noon, was assured I was fine, but I hung up on him leaving him puzzled with my statement that "we only had 2 feet, so I have to go to class, bye!" Who in their right mind says "ONLY" 2 feet of snow? Or thinks there's going to be class in such weather? After class, I had time to explain it to him that I'd seen upwards of 3 feet at a time, and that since most of the professors lived within walking distance, 2 feet was not considered sufficient to shut down the school.
