I would get NO gratification from doing whatever I personally want with the piece since I don't actually have any sort of "vested interest" in the piece. I will get much more personal satisfaction knowing I have done my best to find the common ground amongst the 30+ people who will have been involved in this endeavour.
Finally, let me say that I am a FIRM believer in the age old say that what goes around comes around. I'm OK with the type of energy I have sent out into the "great beyond" as regards this project.
