If you haven't left yet... Do *NOT* give them a hard time about what you have. Just give it up (the part they won't allow). They are permitted to ban anything they want to... not just go by the FAA baselines.
Object, sure... do *not* pull out a list and get belligerent... or they may decide to delay you for a closer search!
-Liz (um... I had a friend who was doing training for those folks... last year I think it was... honestly... the airlines and airports are permitted to add to the restrictions... *period*. The FAA guidelines tell you what is *absolutely* permitted, not the *only*.)

I never paid much attention to this subject since I never travel but I have

thins updated do I have no chance of stitching? We have a 7 hour delay in
Detroit what am I going to do besides I thought we could stitch again?

I am flying on Monday, so I just downloaded a list of prohibited/OK items
from the TSA. You can find it at this site:
http://www.tsa.gov/public/display?theme=175
The list says that knitting needles are okay, but doesn't mention
needlepoint-type needles. I'm taking a copy of the list with me in case
they give me a hard time about the knitting needles. I'll let you know how
it goes!
