I am getting a couple of projects together, to take with me on my trip. One of them is one of the Dutch Treat tabletoppers (real tacky, palm trees and Flamingos!). It uses Perle 5, no problem, and Caron Wildflowers; I don't think I have ever stitched with this before. My question is how do you organise the big skein, and extra strands so they don't get snarled together?? It is too big to put on a bobbin; do you use baggies, or what??
I usually cut the entire skein into 36" lengths at once. (It's a
double twisted hank with one end poked into the loop, like a skein of
perle cotton. Pull that end out of the loop and let the hank untwist.
Cut just once, by the knot.) Then I lark's head it around the hole in
the card it comes on. Cut and stripped strands get put in a different
lark's head through the same hole. Partially used strands get yet
another lark's head.

Great idea, Jenn. Why didn't I think of that!!! I like things on the label, bobbin etc, clearly labelled so I don't mess up!. Shall do that this evening!
